What to Expect During Your First Botox Appointment

Preparing for Your First Botox Treatment

Congratulations on taking the first step toward smoother, more youthful-looking skin! Here's everything you need to know about your first Botox appointment.

    Before Your Appointment

    • Avoid blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen) for 7 days if possible
    • Skip alcohol for 24-48 hours before treatment
    • Arrive with a clean face, no makeup
    • Prepare a list of questions for your injector

    The Consultation

Your injector will discuss your goals, evaluate your facial anatomy, and create a personalized treatment plan. This is the time to share any concerns and review your medical history.

    The Treatment

The actual injection process takes only 10-15 minutes:

    • Your face will be cleaned and marked
    • A very fine needle is used for minimal discomfort
    • Ice or topical numbing may be applied
    • Most patients describe it as a small pinch

    Immediately After

You can return to normal activities right away with a few precautions:

    • Avoid rubbing or massaging treated areas for 24 hours
    • Stay upright for 4 hours
    • Skip intense exercise for 24 hours
    • Avoid excessive heat and alcohol

    Results Timeline

You'll start seeing results in 3-5 days, with full effects visible at 2 weeks. Results typically last 3-4 months for first-time patients, often lasting longer with consistent treatments.
