Results are immediate, though you will have some swelling at first. Slight swelling for 2 to 3 days is normal, and your final result settles in within about two weeks. How to Get Natural-Looking Results
The most common worry we hear is, will my lips look overdone? The answer is entirely in how the treatment is planned. Our injectors start conservatively, especially for first-timers. You can always add more at a follow-up visit, but you cannot easily take away what has already been placed, so we build toward your goal rather than rushing it. Safety and Reversibility
One of the biggest advantages of HA lip filler is that it is fully reversible. If you do not love your result, or in the rare case of a complication, your provider can inject an enzyme called hyaluronidase that dissolves the filler within 24 to 48 hours. Very few aesthetic treatments offer that kind of safety net.
A few things to know before you book. Lip filler is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have an active cold sore. If you are prone to cold sores, tell your provider. Injection can trigger the herpes simplex virus, so your provider can prescribe an antiviral medication such as Valtrex to take before and after your appointment to prevent an outbreak. This is a simple, routine precaution, not a reason to skip treatment.
